الأهمية والفضل
Quraysh is a very short surah that directly follows Al-Fil in logical sequence: after Allah protected the Ka'bah from Abraha's army, Quraysh enjoyed unparalleled security and commercial prosperity. The surah commands Quraysh to worship the Lord of this house as their response to His feeding them from hunger and securing them from fear. It establishes gratitude as the proper response to divine provision — making worship the logical consequence of blessing.

Ayah 3–4 ("So let them worship the Lord of this house, who has fed them, [saving them] from hunger and made them safe, [saving them] from fear") present two specific divine gifts — food and security — as the basis for the obligation of worship. Classical scholars note that these two needs — sustenance and safety — are the most fundamental human requirements, and that a people who have received them from Allah yet fail to worship Him are in a state of extraordinary ingratitude.

Quraysh is often read in sequence with Al-Fil in prayer, as they are thematically and contextually connected. The surah's reminder that provision and safety come from Allah is used in Islamic gratitude practices (shukr) and is a standard teaching in Islamic discussions of divine blessing (ni'mah) as the ground for worship. Many scholars recite both Al-Fil and Quraysh together in the first and second rakat of a prayer as a Sunnah.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ لِإِيلَافِ قُرَيْشٍ 1
For the accustomed security of the Quraysh -
إِيلَافِهِمْ رِحْلَةَ الشِّتَاءِ وَالصَّيْفِ 2
Their accustomed security [in] the caravan of winter and summer -
فَلْيَعْبُدُوا رَبَّ هَٰذَا الْبَيْتِ 3
Let them worship the Lord of this House,
الَّذِي أَطْعَمَهُمْ مِنْ جُوعٍ وَآمَنَهُمْ مِنْ خَوْفٍ 4
Who has fed them, [saving them] from hunger and made them safe, [saving them] from fear.
